Panorama & Aster School

The purpose of the Panorama Alternative School is to support the district's mission “to equip our students with the knowledge and skills to succeed and prosper in an ever-changing global society" by providing consultation, instructional materials and curriculum to parents and students dedicated to teaching and learning at home.  Our role is to support that instruction – not replace it.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a free, full-day early entrance program for children who are scheduled to enter kindergarten the following year.  TK students must be 4 years old on Sept. 1.  The program focuses on basic academic and social/emotional skills to help qualifying students get a jump start towards success in school.   If you have any questions about the process, please contact Aster School at 509-684-7840.

Families will be contacted later in August to schedule the screening. The screening process consists of a Family Connection Meeting and a series of child assessments to determine development and program readiness.

Our Developmental Preschool Program provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for preschool-aged students with disabilities who need special education support to participate in typical preschool activities. Through play-based learning, social interaction, and individualized instruction, children develop cognitive, social-emotional, communication, and motor skills. Our program is designed to prepare each child for success in kindergarten.
