On March 3rd and 4th CHS sent six FFA Members to Moses Lake to attend a leadership conference. Students studied goals and who they would like to become. They learned about habit loops to provide actionable steps to accomplishing their goals and how to prioritize their time to evaluate how balanced their lives are.
The six students were Isaiah Porter Mills, Kendra Lewis, Emma Newby, Crew Bridgeman, David Jabaay, and Levi Leaden.

Any day is a good day to decorate cookies but decorating cookies at the Panorama Preschool on Valentine’s Day is a GREAT day! Thank you, Key Club, for being such a great example and for helping out throughout the year!

The Key Club's second blood drive of the year was a success! Ten Key Club members worked the drive setting up, registering donors, and explaining how to access Fast Track, which is where donors complete their health history questionnaire. Having donors complete this before they donate helps the Vitalant staff keep the drive running smoothly. The crew processed 30 appointments, 26 registered donors, and were key in the success of collecting 25 successful donations! Great work Key Club!

Congratulations to Ady Darnold for being accepted into the 2023 NAfME (National Association for Music Education) All-Northwest Treble Choir! After competing with applicants from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, and Wyoming, Ady represented Colville High School in Bellevue last weekend. Congrats Ady!!!

On Thursday, February 9th, Mrs. Nelson took a group of students to the Spokane Ag Expo, the largest farm show in the Inland Northwest! Ag Expo is a place where agriculture professionals meet to collaborate, connect, and create new relationships. This creates a platform for the next generation of agriculture professionals to GROW through exposure to industry pathways. This exposure encourages our Hawks to think about the endless possibilities for their own futures!

Mrs. Ressa's Leadership class visited our preschool yesterday. They made spin art together. This is a great way for our students to mentor our future Crimson Hawks! Everyone had a great time!

Four of our CHS welding students traveled to the regional Skills USA competition at the Spokane Community College last week. The students did pretty well for their first time competing! One of our members placed 7th out of 31 students and was Colville's highest placing student. Students competed in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW Welding, Oxy-Fuel Cutting, and a written knowledge test. Every student said they enjoyed the experience and would do it again if given the chance.
